Hi Gretchen. Wow, that's a tough question. I have no idea to be honest. You could call guest services, which is (407) 939-6244. Other than that I'm not sure, sorry I could not help more. :(

Hello, we are Florida residents trying to do something different this year for New Year's Eve, and we thought maybe going to the Disney area. Anything different or any advice for 2011?? I checked out the Swam and Dolphin hotels and was thinking of spending the actual New Year's at the Boardwalk, but you posted there are no fireworks there... is that still the case. Any restaurants you recommend in that area?

Hi again. Oh there are lots of families with teens that have this problem. It all depends on what you like. Many go to Disney and watch the fireworks and enjoy the shows at Midnight. They don't go for the rides but for the fireworks and shows. Many teens love those.

If you want to stay at Universal then you can take in the show at the lagoon, which will be close to midnight. Or even be at the other park and do the rides since they will be open until 1 AM. But there will be no fireworks.

SeaWorld will have a great water, music and fireworks show at midnight with a special area with a live DJ. That's where I would go myself. Personally I'm staying home that night, I spend enough time at the parks, I don't need to be there when they are the most crowded! :D

As for restaurants, all the most popular ones at the parks and the big hotels like the ones at Universal and Disney will have late night dinners with maybe a little champagne toast at midnight but nothing too big. It's hard to recommend any one thing because every place will do something a bit different and only you can decide what is best for your taste. :)

Thanks for the update. I still do not have a recommendation where it is best to be at midnite with teens 19 and 15. Sounds like Universal Florida , at the lagoon by midnight. What are people with teens doing? It can't be possible I am the only one wondering about this? Are there realy that few 15 - 19 year olds at universal at this time of year? (Maybe I should cancel?) Also, what restaurants would you recommend for sit down dinners, especially New Years Eve? Are there restaurants doing anything that you would recommend?

Hello there Elizabeth Hellreich, thanks for asking. This is actually last year's event, for the newest info on what's going on at Universal Studios on New Years Eve check out this:
<a href="http://orlandoinside.com/universal-studios-citywalk-new-years-eve-events-party-for-2011-2012/" rel="nofollow">2011-2012 new years party</a>
You will see that they will not be having any fireworks this year at all, even in the parks. As for what to do when you have teens, I assume you mean New Years eve night? Universal has some great high thrill rides to go on during the day, teens love those.

So they could do that even late in the evening in both Universal parks. But if you really want to see fireworks and don't want to do Disney, I suggest going to SeaWorld. They will have a great water and fireworks show plus a live DJ you can dance to.

SeaWorld has a few roller coasters good for teens plus all the marine shows of course. So you could do that. There's not a whole lot more options on New Years eve except for what goes on at each hotel, which have their own little parties. Hope you have fun whatever you do! :)

What would you recommend for a mum with her 20 and 16 year old daughers? too young for citywalk and too old for the kids stuff! We are from Toronto and are used to all ages events. The hotels look like they are offering middle aged adults stuff. We already booked our tickets. We are aware of the fireworks over the lagoon etc. but what about other good entertainment?Where do the other teens go? Help!! Liz
