The best Disney World hotels are offered in the form of deluxe rooms and suites, providing guests with a wide range of amenities and activities. Eight different venues can be found in the Epcot area, the Magic Kingdom area, and the Animal Kingdom area. Depending on whether you select a room or a suite, the lodgings can accommodate up to eight people.
Visitors to these Walt Disney World resorts can enjoy sitting areas, in-room refrigerators, dining areas, hair dryers, irons and ironing boards, coffee makers, high-speed internet connections, and private balconies or patios. Some of the suites also provide whirlpool tubs, valet parking, laundry service, kitchenettes, and fireplaces.
Available deluxe lodgings include guest rooms, concierge rooms, one-bedroom suites, two-bedroom suites, concierge suites, and presidential suites. Like Most Walt Disney World resorts, all the deluxe lodging choices include great activities for kids.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort
Located in the Animal Kingdom area, this lodge sits on a wildlife preserve and provides great views of the savanna animal habitats. The furnishings, décor, and architecture were modeled after a traditional African village. Two on-site restaurants serve cuisine from the Dark Continent.
Like most Walt Disney World resorts, this one has an awesome pool, and kids will have a blast on the 67-foot-long water slide. Guests can also enjoy biking, ping-pong, foosball, arts and crafts, arcades, shopping, a water playground, a traditional playground, shopping, a fitness center, and wildlife encounters.
Disney’s Beach Club Resort
This Disney resort is located in the Epcot area and has a New England theme, with plenty to enjoy: rent a bike, fish for bass, get a workout in the fitness center, play video arcade games, lob a few tennis balls, join in a game of beach volleyball, or just hang out on the sandy shores of Crescent Lake.
The Beach Club also features three swimming pools, a garden, spas, and a marina that rents jet skis and pontoon boats. A grill and a steakhouse are on the site. Accommodations include standard rooms, concierge rooms, one-bedroom suites, two-bedroom suites, and presidential suites.
Disney’s Boardwalk Inn Resort
The Disney Boardwalk Inn is in the Epcot area. If you enjoy Disney World hotels near the water, you’ll love this one – it’s right on the banks of lovely Crescent Lake. The atmosphere is reminiscent of Atlantic City of the 1940s, with a boardwalk, midway games, and carnival-like amusements.
Guests will have the opportunity to play miniature golf, arcade games, tennis, and ping-pong. They can also fish, ride bikes, work out, jog, or enjoy the 24-hour playground. One of the three swimming pools features a 200-foot-long water coaster. The Boardwalk Marina rents boats and jet skis, and there are several restaurants at the resort.
Disney’s Contemporary Resort
This Disney resort lodging choice is located in the Magic Kingdom area. If you’re looking for Walt Disney World resorts within walking distance to the Magic Kingdom, this one is for you. If you prefer, you can catch the monorail on the fourth floor.
Guests can enjoy shopping, a 24-hour arcade, miniature golf, a sandy beach, fishing, parasailing, tubing, pirate voyages, beach volleyball, water skiing, and wakeboarding. The resort has a wading pool and two swimming pools, one of which has a great water slide. There are also two on-site restaurants, and special programs are provided for children.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa
If you prefer to be near the Magic Kingdom area, check out Disney’s Grand Floridian resort. This is another of the Walt Disney World resorts that’s waterfront – in this case, on Seven Seas Lagoon. The grounds include gardens, palm trees, six restaurants, and views of Cinderella Castle.
Guests will be entertained with beach play, a 24-hour arcade, golf, pirate cruises, a jogging trail, a fitness center, a luxurious spa, biking, tennis, and outdoor movies. Water rentals are also available, including jet skis and pontoon boats.
You can even charter an opulent yacht, perfect for special occasions. The yacht has three bedrooms, a galley, a dining area, air conditioning, and four TVs. The resort also has a kiddie pool and two swimming pools. Kids can enjoy attending a Wonderland Tea Party or joining in the fun at the Mouseketeer Club.
Disney’s monorail train stops here as well. If you want to be very close to the Magic Kingdom in one of the most luxurious Disney resorts you can find, choose Disney’s Contemporary resort.
Disney’s Polynesian Resort
Even though this resort is in the Magic Kingdom area, the Polynesian resort is one of the most exotic of all Disney World hotels. You’ll feel as if you’ve been transported to the South Pacific, with white beaches, tropical plants and flowers, koi ponds, and Tahitian-style architecture and décor.
Guests can fish, enjoy the beach, test their skills in the 24-hour arcade, relax at the spa, bike, attend a traditional luau, and rent canoes, jet skis, sailboats, or pontoon boats at the marina.
The resort boasts two swimming pools, one of which has an amazing volcano, a waterslide, waterfalls, and a wet play area for kids. Guest can take the ferry boat or monorail to the Magic Kingdom.
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
This is a traditional national park-type lodge located in the Magic Kingdom area that embraces the spirit of the Native American culture. The grounds are dotted with waterfalls, a creek, springs, and a geyser that throws water 120 feet high. Two onsite restaurants serve barbecue, steaks, seafood, and game dishes. A poolside bar serves snacks and beverages.
Lodge guests can enjoy the sandy beach, the fitness center, an arcade, biking, fishing, jogging, a 24-hour playground, campfire sing-alongs, and the sauna. Boats and jet skis are available for rent, too. One of the two swimming pools is complete with boulders, a waterfall, a hot tub, and a water slide.
Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
At the Yacht Club resort, you’ll think you’re at Martha’s Vineyard when you’re actually in Disney’s Epcot area. Kid will love three-acre Stormalong Bay, which includes slides and a full-size shipwreck. Guests can also enjoy 25-acre Crescent Lake, where they can rent pedal boats, jet skis, and pontoon boats, or play a round of beach volleyball.
Other opportunities and activities include tennis, bicycle riding, jogging, a spa, a fitness center, outdoor movies, fishing, private cruises, and a high-tech arcade. Supervised activities for kids are also offered. On-site are four restaurants and two lounges.
