If you’d like to see some world-class golf and support a great cause at the same time, plan on attending the Disney Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals golf Classic, held on October 20, 21, 22, and 23, 2011. The tournament will be played on the Magnolia Golf Course and the Palm Golf Course, both of which are Walt Disney World championship venues.
Part of the PGA Tour, this exciting event has a history of featuring some of the world’s top golfers, including Jack Nicklaus, Payne Stewart, Vijay Singh, and the legendary Tiger Woods. The competition will be fierce and the stakes will be high, with hundreds of thousands of dollars in prize money.
These are beautiful golf courses, and Disney has some special treatment in store for spectators of the event. On the back nine of the Magnolia Course, guests can enjoy the Wine and Dine Walk. Here, the Disney World resort chefs will be offering food and wine at five different stations, each with a commanding view of the action.
This is a wonderful opportunity for golf fans. The October weather in Central Florida is usually warm, but not uncomfortably hot like it is in June, July, and August. If you want to visit one of the theme parks while you’re in the area, you’ll find that the crowds are often considerably smaller than they are in the summer.
Best of all, by attending the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals golf Classic, you’ll be helping a non-profit organization that raises money for hospitals in America that specialize in treating children.
