Soarin’ Over California is the newest ride addition to The Land pavilion at Disney’s Epcot. This hang-gliding simulator flies you over various landmarks of California. Many guests say that this is the most popular ride in the entire Walt Disney World theme park.

The attraction opened in 2005. Gentle tilting of the seats and wind effects create a simulated flying sensation. The three rows are designed to hold 87 guests. Two theaters double the capacity.

This popular ride uses state of the art technology to lift you 30 to 50 feet in the air while projecting panoramic images of the Golden State of California. The journey starts at San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge.

You will also see the Yosemite National Park, Lake Tahoe, Napa Valley, Malibu, San Francisco, and Redwood Creek. Guests fly over Camarillo orange groves, glimpse the Pacific Ocean’s Monterey Bay, and explore the vineyards if Californian wine country. During your journey, an IMAX projection dome wraps 180 degrees around you.

Soarin’ caters to big kids, teenagers, and adults. Thus multi-sensory attraction lasts about four minutes and 51 seconds. Guests can play up to five different games on massive digital projection screens while in the standby line.

Fasten your seatbelts and hang on as you start this amazing journey! The air fills with the scent of the sea breeze, evergreens, and orange groves. The Malibu and Monterey scenes have the scent of a sea breeze, while the mountain scenes have the aroma of evergreens.

The ride ends with a flying over Main Street USA. Guests can also see fireworks that go off over the Sleeping Beauty Castle and burst into sensational colors around them.

The images are realistic and drop-dead beautiful. The overall ride experience is certainly not to be missed. Soarin’ is by far one of the most thrilling rides you will ever take.
