Across the lagoon from the Magic Kingdom Park, Disney’s Polynesian Resort features a white-sand beach, tropical gardens, live entertainment and island hospitality. The Poly, as it’s affectionately known, is an AAA Four-Diamond award winning resort offering eleven longhouses that house the guest rooms.
Rooms are decorated in “island style,” with bamboo fixtures, prints and tropical paintings. You feel like you are really in Hawaii or some other sort of Polynesian place. Many guests prefer Disney’s Polynesian Resort for convenience.
There is a stretch of beach along a lagoon dotted with palm trees and hammocks, canopy boats and mini-motorboats available for rent in the marina, a volcano-themed swimming pool, spa tubs, children’s pool, arcade room and supervised child care/activities. It is a short walk to the Spa at the Grand Floridian with complimentary access to the gym. The sand is nice for the kids to play.
Most guest rooms have air conditioning, phone, voicemail, daily maid service, balcony, kitchen/kitchenette, microwave oven, wet bar, ceiling fans, cable TV, Pack ‘n Play Playard, a desk with an integrated rolling table and matching chair, two queen beds and many other great amenities.

The restaurants on site are terrific. Ohana is a family-style American and Polynesian restaurant featuring all-you-can-eat Polynesian feast. Kona Cafe serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Disney’s Spirit of Aloha Show celebrates rich traditions of the South Pacific. Here you can enjoy a unique live show with fire knife dancers and hula dancers. The location cuisine is inspired by a traditional Polynesian-venue.
Ohana’s Best Friends Breakfast with Lilo & Stitch at Disney’s Polynesian Resort is excellent for the little ones. Those who love eating snacks, burgers and fries should go to the Captain Cook’s Snack Company. The cast members working here make you feel welcome, from the front desk to the housekeeper.
Fantastic childcare is available at the NeverLand Club, a themed club for kids featuring arts & crafts, arcade games, a nightly dinner buffet and Disney movies. Recreational activities available either on site or near the hotel include parasailing, running track/path, volleyball, fishing, boating, horse riding, bicycle rentals, tennis, water skiing and snorkeling.
