Disney’s newest value hotel, the Pop Century Resort, is a whimsical time capsule of 20th-century pop culture. The resort is divided into decades from the 1950s through the 1990s. The buildings are designed as time capsules of the way Americans used to live during these five decades.
Disney’s Pop Century Resort features 2,880 rooms decorated with giant icons including bowling pins, jukeboxes, characters from The Jungle Book and other Disney stories, yo-yos, eight-track tapes and much more. There are lots of interesting things to look at while walking around the grounds.
The resort has three heated pools with themes, a smaller bowling pin-shaped Bowling Pool, a lower-shaped Hippy Dippy Pool and the ’80s computer-themed pool. There is also an unheated pool for children, a playground with a Goofy water feature and an arcade. If you love shopping, feel free to visit Everything Pop shop inside the Classic Hall building to pick up a few souvenirs. Those who feel the need to exercise can walk or jog around Disney’s Pop Century Resort on a 1.38-mile trail.
For a budget-friendly resort, the spectacle of American pop culture is impressive. Disney’s Pop Century Resort features a wide variety of recreational activities which are available either on site or near the hotel. Golfing, biking, swimming, horse riding, parasailing and boating are just some of them.
Guestrooms provide in-room safes, air conditioning, voicemail, wired high-speed Internet access, babysitting or child care, cable/satellite television channels and housekeeping. The rooms are pretty small, but when you go to Disney you do not spend a lot of time in the room, so it’s not a big deal. The decor is very authentic and you can walk around and read about different things in history.
Dining options include various eateries in Everything Pop Shopping and Dining. The hotel’s food court features four different counter-service shops and a Grab-N-Go Market. There is also a nighttime-only lounge located in the food court and a seasonal outdoor bar. There’s no need to break out the wallet every time you want to eat, because the portions are quite are large.
Disney’s Pop Century Resort is perfect for families who don’t want to spend a fortune. The Disney Bus service pulls up right outside the main building and goes to all major parks and attractions, which makes this place very convenient for those who want to have fun at Disney. You won’t be disappointed, especially when traveling with children!
