Universal Studios is getting ready for the holiday season, and one of the best events there is the Macy’s Christmas holiday parade at Universal Studios 2011!
Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade is an American icon, a beloved harbinger for the holiday season in the United States. Have you ever wondered where the floats go for Christmas?
They go to Universal Studios theme park in Florida! You can see the excitement and magic of Macy’s Holiday Parade without having to make a trip to New York City. The parade is held in the Universal Orlando park, NOT Islands of Adventure.
Beginning in December and running through the first of January, the parade can be enjoyed every evening. The take-off point is the Beetlejuice Theater, but no matter where you are in the park, chances are that you’ll get a good look. It winds it’s way around the whole park in one big circle.
The parade will star authentic floats and balloons from Macy’s New York parade, along with clowns, dancers, street performers, and marching bands from all over the U.S. An appearance from the Jolly Old Santa himself will delight kids of all ages.
The park is like a Christmas wonderland during the month of December, it’s decked out with thousands of lights and other decorations, and the air is filled with the happy notes of holiday music. Near the Twister, be sure to attend the Christmas tree-lighting ceremony.
It’s a very large Christmas tree decked out with hundreds of Christmas decorations and lights. At the end of the Macy’s Christmas holiday Parade the lights come on and confetti rains down upon everyone!
For more spirited Christmas fun, stroll over to Holiday Village, where you’ll find delicious goodies, arts and crafts, and live music and shows. Kids will love the StarToons Holiday Show and A Barney Holiday, where they’re encouraged to sing Christmas favorites with the famous dinosaur and his pals.
You can even experience snow in Florida! Just check out the Blues Brothers live performance. After their lively renditions of holiday tunes, Delancey Street will have snow.
