Well today is Christmas day, 2008! It’s nice and warm out here in Orlando, Fl. I wanted to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year’s. This year will be one of the more tougher ones for a lot of people. Everyone seems to have cut back and many are having a hard time making ends meet.
Of course the real spirit of Christmas is being with your family and friends, even if the kids think it’s all about the toys! I’ll spend most of my day by myself, then see some friends later today. I’m baking a whole chicken and got some cool videos to watch, so I’m all set! Walt Disney World will have their big Christmas day parade going on, I’m sure I’ll watch that.
I live close enough to Disney to hear the fireworks go off each night. They will have a few extra ones tonight, should be a good show. Universal Studios will have a big Christmas day fireworks display too and many extra things going on in the park. Sea World also has extra fireworks and light shows on Christmas day.
There are many other smaller attractions that also have their own special Christmas day highlights. The lights around Orlando are very pretty and should really be all out tonight. The crowds at the theme parks should be the lightest they have been in years, thanks to the bad economy. The latest hotel figures put the hotels at only 53% full.
So if your down here in Orlando doing Disney or Universal you’ve picked one of the best times to do it. The last time it was this slow around the holidays in Orlando was the holiday season after 9/11. So get out there and have fun! Merry Christmas everyone, and have a safe and fun Christmas day!
