Once again it’s time to see what will be going on at SeaWorld for the Christmas holidays events and shows for 2011. Each year it gets bigger and better and this year is no exception.
Starting in November, SeaWorld Orlando will kick off its annual Christmas celebration, with the total transformation of the popular park. The festivities will include Winter Wonderland on Ice, A Sesame Street Christmas, Clyde and Seamore’s Countdown to Christmas, Shamu Christmas Miracles, the Makahiki Christmas Luau, and The Polar Express Experience.
If you’re at SeaWorld on New Year’s Eve, you’ll be treated to some great live music and a spectacular fireworks display to help you bring in the new year.
One of the most amazing offerings at SeaWorld during the holiday season is The Polar Express Experience, based on the popular movie. The Wild Arctic ride at SeaWorld becomes a very convincing North Pole, including winter scenery from the film.
It’s a cool simulator ride that normally has you going on a trip to the arctic. But for the Christmas holidays it’s the Polar Express train, as you board the train and travel to see Santa at the North Pole. Filled with Christmas images and more guests will believe, with the help of special effects that include motion, sound, smell, and visuals.
Winter Wonderland on Ice features some very talented skaters who perform their magic on ice. The show recreates a New England Christmas scene, with birch trees, a frozen pond, and a charming bridge. Also included are colored water fountains, twinkling lights, Christmas trees, music, and fireworks.
Everyone in the family will love the antics of the two sea lions, Clyde and Seamore, with their humorous show, Countdown to Christmas. Don’t be surprised when other aquatic critters get in on the fun, too.
The Clyde and Seamore Countdown to Christmas show is filled with Christmas decorations and images and is lots of fun. It’s amazing to see what these two sea lions and other animals can do. Make sure you see one of the shows.
Something else you won’t want to miss is A Sesame Street Christmas. This musical presentation explains the real meaning of Christmas, from the perspective of the Sesame Street characters. Kids will have the opportunity to meet their favorites, and they can even enjoy a meal with them at Elmo and Friends Christmas Breakfast.
At the center of the SeaWorld park is the Skytower, a 400 foot tall tower you can go up in. At Christmas time they string Christmas lights from the top all the way down to the bottom.
The result is SeaWorld’s own giant lit up Christmas tree that can be seen for miles. It’s cool to stand right below it at night and gaze up at all the lights blinking and swaying in the air!
The sea of trees is another cool Christmas display you can only find at SeaWorld Orlando. It features trees that float on the water, all decorated and lit up with Christmas lights and music.
Finally they have Shamu’s Christmas Miracles show. Shown each night it’s a special Shamu show at the Shamu whale stadium. Filled with holiday lights and music you can see Shamu and friends perform a special show to celebrate Christmas.
