SeaWorld’s Aquatica Water Park in Orlando, Florida

SeaWorld's Aquatica water park

Now that summertime is here the heat goes up super high in Orlando, Florida. That means it’s time to head to the local water parks. One of the best and newest is Aquatica.

Aquatica is SeaWorld’s water park, and it’s located just across the street from the famous SeaWorld Orlando. This is a perfect place to spend an entire day.

Rides and attractions range from calm and relaxing to heart-pounding and thrilling, so there’s something for everyone. You’ll even find venues reserved just for little kids.

One of the best attractions at the park are the side-by-side wave pools – the only such attraction in the country. Both pools have sandy beaches. In one pool, the waves are constant, and in the other, the waves vary. There are also rocks, waterfalls, and tropical foliage, so it’s almost like being in a Caribbean cove.

The most popular and unique ride at Aquatica Water Park is probably the Dolphin Plunge. On this ride, you slide through a clear tube that’s immersed in a pool inhabited by friendly Commerson’s Dolphins. You have to be at least 48 inches tall to enjoy this amazing slide, and you can’t weigh more than 300 pounds.

For some real thrills, try Tassie’s Twisters, Whanua Way, Roa’s Rapids, or Taumata Racer. With the latter, eight riders plunge down eight super steep slides as they race to the finish line – the plunge pool.

You might also want to catch some thrills with Walhalla Run and HooRoo Run, where you and your pals sit in a large round float as you zip through six stories of dark tunnels, drops, and turns.

If you’re looking for relaxation at Aquatica Water Park, check out Loggerhead Lane. This is a lazy river ride where you float on a raft above bright tropical fish. You might just want to chill on the beach or rent a private cabana.

The private cabanas include a fridge stocked with chilled bottled water, and lockers and towels are included in the rental. The water park also has picnic areas and several restaurants, snack bars, showers, gift shops, and more than 100 lifeguards on duty.

SeaWorld’s Aquatica Water Park is 54 acres big, a lot of area for a water park and filled with much to do. So if you need a place to cool off this summer make sure you check out Aquatica Water Park! :)
