4th of July in Orlando

Happy 4th of July everyone! It’s time to celebrate independence day with BBQ’s, outdoor fun and of course great fireworks. Here in Orlando we have lots of local firework displays to choose from.

Plus you can see unique displays at the local theme parks. Some of the most well known local fireworks are the Cranes Roost Park “Red, Hot and Boom” show at Altamonte Springs. This show was last night, the 3rd.

At downtown Orlando’s Lake Eola Park there will be a big party and fireworks show tonight. Activities start at 4 PM and go on until 10 PM. Fireworks start at 9:10 PM.

Walt Disney World has finally came out with their plans for this years New Year’s Eve fireworks, parades and events for 2011 to 2012. So the following is all the information I have of what’s going on at the theme parks and other Disney resorts on New Years Eve December 31st. :)

Disney’s Magic Kingdom theme park
The Magic Kingdom is the most popular Disney theme park to spend New Years Eve. That means it’s the most crowded and it WILL reach capacity and close to anymore guest once that happens. When that will occur is hard to say but it may be as early as mid afternoon.

So my advice is, if you want to see the late night shows and fireworks in the Magic Kingdom for New Years Eve, plan on going in before noon and staying there until your done for the night. This is not a good day to be park hopping!

Most of the shows, parades and fireworks are the same as last year. The times may change a bit, so double check a day or two before going in for the schedule of events. With that in mind here’s the plan so far:

Walt Disney World fourth of July 2011 events, fireworks

Walt Disney World fourth of July 2011 events and fireworks

Once again it’s time to see what the Walt Disney World fourth of July 2011 events and fireworks are going to be like this year! For the most part it’s the same each year, or at least for the past few years.

The 4th of July at Walt Disney World is always one of the most crowded days of the whole year. Only Christmas day and New Years Eve has crowds as big at the Disney theme parks.

So let this be a warning to you, if your going to go to one of the Disney World theme parks on the fourth of July 2011, get there early, stay all day and be prepared for large crowds. It will be a long drive home also!

Walt Disney New Years Eve 2010, 2011 fireworks, events and times

Walt Disney new years eve 2010, 2011

It’s time to find out what’s going on for Walt Disney new years eve 2010, 2011! As always expect all the theme parks, including all the Disney parks to be packed full for new years.

In fact most Disney parks will fill to capacity around the middle of the afternoon or so. Once that happens you will NOT be allowed inside. So my advice is, pick one Disney park and stay there all day.

Walt Disney New Years Eve 2010, 2011 should be a blast at all the parks this year. Many choose the Magic Kingdom so they can see the new years eve fireworks go off behind Cinderellas castle.

However Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park has some great fireworks too, some very unique you can only see there. You’ll just have to decide for yourself what park to take in new years eve!

I’ll make it a little easier for you by posting the Walt Disney New Years Eve 2010, 2011 times, events and firework shows you can expect at each park, okay? Here we go:

Walt Disney World Christmas holiday fireworks youtube video

I wanted to show you a little bit of the Walt Disney World Christmas fireworks show. I wanted it to be this years, not last. I managed to find one on youtube that someone had put up. It’s the Disney World Christmas fireworks at the magic kingdom park. That one is always cool because of Cinderella’s castle.

They always light it up and use it as part of the fireworks display. Now, no youtube video can come close to really capturing the way the Disney fireworks show looks. You just can’t do it justice on a video. In fact it looks sad compared to the real show. But, if you’ve never seen Disney’s fireworks, it gives you a taste. So enjoy this Walt Disney World Christmas fireworks youtube video of 2008.

Orlando Disney holiday season still light this year

Well I hope everyone had a great Christmas day! I myself roasted a whole chicken and watched some movies on my computer, fun fun! I also took a drive out to Disney, but I did not actually go into the parks. In hindsight I think I should have, because it was very light crowds, at least for the holiday season.

I took a look at the parking spots and a few other ways I know of to peek into the parks without actually going in. (sorry, can’t tell you how) 😉 It is DEAD around Disney for a holiday season! I see that last month the hotels had only a 53% occupancy according to the local results that keep track of those things.

That pretty much mirrored what I’ve been saying and seeing. So that means the other parks like Universal Studios and Sea World also had light Christmas day crowds. The ones that are here are really having a good time with no crowds and low prices. I have to wonder if they know how lucky they are to be here this year. [Read more…]

Merry Christmas from Orlando, Florida!

Well today is Christmas day, 2008! It’s nice and warm out here in Orlando, Fl. I wanted to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year’s. This year will be one of the more tougher ones for a lot of people. Everyone seems to have cut back and many are having a hard time making ends meet.

Of course the real spirit of Christmas is being with your family and friends, even if the kids think it’s all about the toys! I’ll spend most of my day by myself, then see some friends later today. I’m baking a whole chicken and got some cool videos to watch, so I’m all set! Walt Disney World will have their big Christmas day parade going on, I’m sure I’ll watch that. [Read more…]
