It will soon once again be time for the ICE show, located in the giant Gaylord Palms resort in Kissimmee. For those who don’t know, each year Gaylord palms trucks in hundreds of tons of ice around the holidays.

The award-winning ICE! attraction is carved by a team of 40 artisans from Harbin, China. The talented artisans spend more than a month in Kissimmee/Orlando creating this one-of-a-kind attraction.

Harbin is best known for its annual International Ice and Snow Festival, where more than 2,000 sculptors annually carve a 100-acre walk-through ice park, using ice from the nearby Songhua River.

Merry Madagascar on ICE! at Gaylord Palms

If you love ice sculptures, Dreamworks’ Madagascar, or just plain old family fun, then you will want to bring your family to Gaylord Palms for this year’s ICE! show featuring DreamWorks’ Merry Madagascar presented by Coca-Cola.

This is a one-of-a-kind event that will thrill and awe children of any age with the artistry and imagination it takes to produce these incredible ice sculptures.

The scene is laid out on 20,000 square feet of space, featuring hand-carved ice sculptures including two-story tall ice slides and a tribute to DreamWorks’ animated Merry Madagascar and all the fun and charismatic characters that you have come to love.

Once again this year the Gaylord Palms hotel in the Orlando area will be hosting the Gaylord ICE show 2010. So just what is the ICE at Gaylord Palms show all about?

Well let me explain. Each year around the Holidays Gaylord Palms sets up an enormous tent outside the hotel. In fact it’s around 18,000 square feet big! Then they cool it down to only 9 degrees!

Next they truck in two million pounds of specially made ice blocks into the tent for the ICE at Gaylord Palms show. Some are crystal clear, while others are colored.

If you love looking at ice sculptures, you don’t want to miss one of the most beautiful displays in the Orlando area! Each year the exclusive hotel resort Gaylord Palms puts on a fantastic ice sculpture display housed inside a giant hall inside the hotel. This room is kept at a cool 9 degrees and showcases colored ice sculptures made from 2 million pounds of ice!

Made by 40 artisans from China, they hand carve everything you see inside. All guest are given over-sized parkas to keep warm as they explore this winter wonderland. A big hit with the kids is a giant Santa’s ice slide all made out of ice. Called ICE! at Gaylord Palms, anyone can buy tickets to see this amazing display of ice artwork.
