If you loved the animated movie Despicable Me, you’ll be happy to know Universal Studios will be opening a new ride based on it!
Despicable Me, Minion Mayhem ride will have it’s official opening July 2nd. It already is going through a “soft” opening. This is when they let guest on the ride at different times of the day.
It’s a time where they work all the bugs out of the ride and fine tune it. It can be open or closed at any time during the day during the soft opening.
The ride is of course based on the movie, which is about 3 little sisters who get adopted by an evil genius who wants to use them to get a weapon from someone else.
But he soon has feelings for them and ends up the worlds greatest dad to them. It was a great movie and very funny, so if you did not see it I recommend you do.
The Despicable Me Minion Mayhem ride seems to be modeled a lot after The Simpson’s ride. However the screen is much clearer and cutting edge.
You move around a lot with some jerks and jumps. It moves right along the story as things get out of control and funny things happen.
The main theme seems to be that your there to audition to become one of the Minion’s, those cute yellow little men who do all the work for Gru, the evil genius.
The waiting line is fun with sets that look like the inside of the Gru’s home, complete with strange furniture and inventions.
So make sure you check out the new Despicable Me Minion Mayhem ride at Universal Studios Orlando. It’s located close to the Universal Orlando’s park main entrance.
