I was walking around Universal Studios Islands of Adventure the other day when I decided to check out the all day locker area. Yes Islands of Adventure has an all day and family sized storage lockers area.
Surprised? It’s actually a bit hard to find if you don’t know where it is, so I decided to take some pictures of it and explain the sizes and prices of the all day storage lockers at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure.
Now, there are several rides throughout Islands of Adventure that also have storage lockers right in front of them. However they tend to be small and it cost more to use them all day than the all day lockers.
So lets start with just where the heck they are! As soon as you get your ticket scanned and go through the turnstiles, take a 90 degree left and walk over toward where you would be exiting the park.
Look for the StowAway Storage area, done in stone with big padlocks in the front, as you can see in the first picture above. It sits back between the wheelchair rental desk and some bathrooms.
This is the Universal Studios Islands of Adventure all day and family sized storage locker area. There are two different sized lockers you can choose from. The smaller size is $8.00 per day, the larger size is $10.00 per day as of this writing.
As you can see in the picture, you get a locker by using a touchscreen. You can pay by cash or by credit card. The instructions are pretty easy to figure out, which is good because there are no attendants there!
Notice also that it says these Universal Studios Islands of Adventure all day lockers are multiple entry. What that means is that you can open and close the lockers as often as you want all day without paying more.
The smaller storage lockers at the rides in Islands of Adventure are only good for one time. Once you open the locker after you lock it, the time resets and you have to get another one.
So with the all day lockers at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure StowAway Storage area, you pay once for the whole day and can then access your items as often as you want all day.
Now, the only downside to storing your stuff there is that you have to walk all the way to the front of the park each time you want to get anything out of the locker.
Which is why I recommend not bringing anything into the park you would have to store in a locker in the first place! However you might buy some merchandise inside the park and want to store it, which is a good idea.
So if you need a family sized locker, or want one for all day use, use the Universal Studios Islands of Adventure StowAway Storage area, located at the front of the park over by where you exit.
