The American Adventure

This half-hour animated show is located in the World Showcase. The Animatronic characters bring American history alive to visitors of all ages as hosts Mark Twain and Ben Franklin guide you through highlights like the Boston Tea Party, the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the Civil War, the Great Depression, and World War II. Characters rise from the stage floor and include Frederick Douglass, Teddy Roosevelt, Susan B. Anthony, Thomas Jefferson, John F. Kennedy, and more. Patriotic and period songs and music enhance the experience.

O Canada!

Located in the Canada Pavilion, this 18-minute film is narrated by actor-comedian Martin Short. The 360-degree circular theater puts you right in the middle of all the spectacular scenery Canada has to offer. Sights include beautiful cities like Ontario, Vancouver, and Quebec, along with majestic mountains, forests, the mighty Niagara Falls, peaceful harbors, and the rootin’ tootin’ Calgary Stampede.

This fabulous 17-minute interactive film stars the legendary Michael Jackson as the futuristic Captain EO. When talented geniuses like George Lucas, Francis Ford Coppola, and James Horner collaborate on a single work, you know it’s going to be unforgettable!

Reflections of China

This 13-minute film can be viewed at the China Pavilion in full Circle-Vision. The narrator assumes the role of ancient Chinese poet Li Bai, who serves as your travel guide. Stunning vistas of the Chinese countryside are displayed, along with views of Hunan, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and other cities. Visually explore the Great Wall, and enjoy a rare visit into the Forbidden City in the center of Beijing, home of the imperial palace and emperors for nearly half a millennium.

Walt Disney World Epcot Rides and Attractions:
Kim Possible Adventure

Based on the popular Disney Channel television show, this interactive attraction allows visitors to become secret agents in the fight against evil. You’ll receive a Kimmunicator, an assignment, and clues to help you stop the bad guys in their tracks. Once you successfully complete your assignment, you’ll receive a special reward. Your secret-agent services can be volunteered at recruitment centers located in Innoventions. This is an outdoor activity, so it’s a great way for kids to burn off some energy.

Impressions de France

This 18-minute film can be enjoyed at the Palais du Cinema in the France Pavilion. The movie covers five screens and provides close-ups and aerial views of the French countryside, Normandy cliffs, sailboats on the Seine, the Loire Valley, Cheverny Forest, Cannes Harbor, Notre Dame cathedral, Champs Elysees, the French Alps, the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, and lots more. Have a seat and soak in the scenes while listening to the London Symphony Orchestra perform the music of Debussy and other famous French composers.

Ellen’s Energy Adventure

When you get to Future World, head to the Universe of Energy Pavilion and check out Ellen’s Energy Adventure. Ride through the dark with Ellen DeGeneres and Bill Nye, the science guy, and learn all about the creation of the universe and the history and future of energy – in an educational yet fun way. For kids, their favorite part is usually the Animatronic dinosaurs, although some younger children might find the big lizards a little frightening. The ride lasts for 40 minutes, and it gives you a chance to escape the sometimes brutal Florida sunshine and actually sit down and rest.

Gran Fiesta Tour

When you reach the Mexico Pavilion, hop on a boat for a tour that stars the Three Caballeros, including Donald Duck. Enjoy a gentle ride down the River of Time as you soak in the scenes of Mexico City, Acapulco, Isle Mujeres, and more. As you float through the pyramid in the dark, real and animated films are depicted on the walls, and the ceiling is filled with stars. At the end of your tour, the overhead “sky” erupts in colorful fireworks. This relaxing ride is perfect for cooling off and taking a break!

Living with the Land

This 14-minute boat ride can be found in Future World. Visitors will learn all about how scientists and farmers are working together to improve our foods. Along the way, you’ll float by African deserts, a rain forest, the plains of the United States, and the Disney Greenhouses, where food is grown for the park’s restaurants. One of the most interesting parts of the tour is the Aquacell, where fishes and alligators thrive.

What-If Labs

Located in Future World, this interactive attraction is an absolute must-see for kids. They’ll have a blast with the amazing hands-on activities and learn while they’re exploring and having fun. They can take a pic of themselves by using the largest digital camera in the world and email the photo to their pals, and the kids can create music through body language and movements like jumping on musical stones. Kids can run around and interact with several exhibits while their senses and their imagination are stimulated.

Mission: SPACE

Have you ever wanted to travel to outer space? With this motion simulator ride in Future World, you can join a mission to Mars, where you’ll zoom past the moon before landing at your destination. You’ll be assigned a crew position as pilot, commander, navigator, or engineer, and after watching a brief training video, you’ll blast off! You’ll have a choice of joining the Orange Team, experiencing 2.4G, or you can be part of the Green Team, which is less intense. If you get motion sickness easily, you’ll probably want to stick with the Green Team experience. This is a thrilling attraction, but it should be avoided by expectant mothers and those with heart problems, hypertension, neck problems, and back problems.

Mission: SPACE Advanced Training Lab

After enjoying your mission to Mars, step over to the Advanced Training Lab, where you’ll find interactive exhibits and games, all with a space theme. There’s a special play area for younger would-be astronauts, too!

Innoventions

Located in Future World, Innoventions is comprised of two buildings: Innoventions East and Innoventions West. In the East section, you can design your own thrill ride and test it out in a 4-D simulator, make your own paper, and experience the effects of a severe storm. At Innoventions West, you can have your picture made on a big fire truck, enter a maze, be a contestant on a funny game show, star in your own video game, and spend some time in the Videogame Playground. Kids will learn a lot about recycling, technology, and safety during the exciting activities.

Maelstrom Adventure Cruise

This ride is located in the Norway Pavilion. Guests will board a Viking ship and depart from an old Norse village, travel via a Norwegian fjord, and float through a swamp filled with tricky trolls. In addition to the sly trolls, you might encounter polar bears or pirates at any time. The last leg of your journey takes you through a storm – backwards! You and the rest of the crew will reach the safety of a protected harbor after surviving the maelstrom of the North Sea. After the cruise, enjoy a short film about modern Norway.

This ride is located at the Land Pavilion. Take a seat in a glider and rise forty feet up into the wind. Far beneath you, the beauty of California is presented by a 180-degree IMAX dome. Your senses will be stimulated by rushing winds, spectacular scenery, and the aromas of evergreen forests, the Pacific Ocean, and groves of orange trees. Vistas include cowboys at work, snowboarders, Yosemite Park, the Golden Gate Bridge, Napa Valley, Lake Tahoe, Malibu, San Diego, Los Angeles, and more. Your trip ends with an amazing fireworks display.

Spaceship Earth

This ride isn’t hard to find – just look for the 18-story sphere that has become the symbol for Epcot. Take a seat on the Omnimover and enjoy a slow journey through the dark in a time machine. You’ll catch glimpses of prehistoric man, ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome, medieval Europe, the Renaissance, the Age of Enlightenment, the Industrial Revolution, and the birth of computers before arriving in the 21st century. The ride lasts for sixteen minutes.

Project Tomorrow

This attraction is located at the Spaceship Earth Pavilion and is a great follow-up to the Spaceship Earth ride. Here, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy five interactive exhibits and high-tech video games. One of the most popular is the Body Builder – a 3-D game that allows users to create a digital human. This attraction is a great way to learn about the future of medicine, healthcare, energy, and transportation, and there’s something appropriate for every age.

Test Track

This attraction simulates the way in which GM cars are tested. Upon entering, guests will view several different testing procedures, then they’ll board a test car. Your car will go over bumps, up hills, through obstacle courses, and in and out of heat, cold, and corrosion chambers. The highlight of the ride is when the car enters the outside track and travels at speeds up to 65 m.p.h. around sharp turns and banks. This is one of the fastest and longest rides at Disney. Expectant mothers and those with heart problems, neck problems, back problems, or hypertension should avoid Test Track. Also, if you’re prone to motion sickness, this ride might make you queasy.

The Seas with Nemo & Friends

This attraction is located in Future World and is based on the movie Finding Nemo. Guests will hop into a giant clam and descend slowly into a colorful, magical undersea world, where you’ll join Dory and Marlin in a search for Nemo. You’ll see Mr. Ray, Crush, Bruce, and those noisy seagulls on your adventure. This is a very relaxing, soothing excursion for all ages.

Sea Base and Caribbean Coral Reef Aquarium

This attraction is located in The Seas with Nemo & Friends Pavilion. The central saltwater aquarium contains almost 6 million gallons and is 200 feet in diameter and 27 feet deep. The area is home to more than 60 marine species and some 6,000 individual creatures, including tropical fish, rays, sharks, sea turtles, manatees, and dolphins. Near the main tank are several smaller exhibits that provide fun and fascinating facts about the ocean’s inhabitants, all explained by Nemo and his pals.

Turtle Talk with Crush

Step into the theater at The Seas with Nemo & Friends Pavilion and meet Crush, the cool and rad sea turtle from Finding Nemo. Crush is pretty amazing, thanks to his high-tech voice-activated 3-D animation. The tubular turtle dude will swim to the “window” and answer questions from the audience in real time. The show lasts for 15 minutes and is perfect for all Finding Nemo fans.
