The holidays are always special at Walt Disney World, and one of the biggest and best events there is Disney’s Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party held at the Magic Kingdom theme park each year at night. For 2011 it’s even better!
For millions of children around the world, Walt Disney’s Mickey Mouse has long been associated with Christmas. It probably began with some of the Mickey Mouse Christmas cartoons, especially Mickey’s Christmas Carol. With a trip to Orlando’s Magic Kingdom, your kids can be a part of the Disney Christmas magic.
During the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party 2011, the Magic Kingdom is transformed into a winter wonderland, with all the lights, music, and props you’d expect from Disney. Cinderella’s Castle is spectacular donned in its holiday lights!
It’s really amazing how different Disney’s Magic Kingdom looks during the holidays when the sun goes down and all the holiday lights come on. It’s like a completely different place than during the day.
The enchanted Castle Dream Lights on Cinderella Castle is really amazing as Mickey lights the big Christmas tree in front of the castle at the same time the castle lights up with glowing, changing colored lights.
Guests to the party will enjoy Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmastime Parade, including the arrival of Santa Claus. This special Disney parade only takes place during the Christmas holidays and is not to be missed.
Kids will have lots of opportunities to interact with their favorite Disney characters, and they can also munch on free cookies and sip hot chocolate. Believe it or not, there’ll even be snow…in Florida! Yep, take a stroll down Main Street U.S.A. in the falling snow.
You’ll see several shows at Mickey’s very merry Christmas Party, and perhaps the most amazing of all is the fireworks display. Because the atmospheric humidity is lower in the fall and winter than it is in the summer months, the pyrotechnics are truly impressive.
Called Holiday Wishes: Celebrate the Spirit of the Season, this special holiday Disney fireworks show is spectacular, going off behind and above the glowing Cinderella’s Castle.
You’ll need a special ticket to attend Mickey’s very merry Christmas party. All the normal daytime guest of the Magic Kingdom have to leave before the party begins, then the people with the Christmas party tickets are let in.
