Star Wars Weekends at Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios

If you’re a Star Wars aficionado, pack your bags and head to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando for one of the Star Wars Weekends. There are four separate events, and each one lasts three days, Friday through Sunday. The 2011 Star Wars Weekends will be on May 20-22, May 27-29, June 3-5, and June 10-12.

During Star Wars Weekends, Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be invaded by Storm Troopers, Sith Lords, Jedi Knights, aliens, droids, cuddly Ewoks, and other characters from the Star Wars movies and The Clone Wars television shows. There will also be some Star Wars celebrities on hand, and you can get their autographs.

If your kids are Jedi wannabes, they’ll love the Jedi Training Academy for the ages 4-12 visitors. There, they’ll learn the art of handling a lightsabre and ready themselves to do battle with the most crafty evil-doers in the universe by implementing the powerful Force.

For those of you who love the Jimmy Neutron’s Nicktoon blast ride at Universal Studios, I have some sad news for you. It seems as though Universal will be closing the ride this year.

Universal Studios has announced that on April 1st, 2011 they will be closing the Jimmy Neutron’s Nicktoon blast ride at Universal Studios Florida theme park.

They will then start to build what they call an “all-new experience based on an amazing concept” at the location. They don’t say what the new ride or attraction will be, other than it’s a natural fit for Universal Orlando.

This six-minute ride is based on the popular television series, The Simpsons. To enjoy this zany ride, you’ll have to walk through a giant Krusty the Clown’s mouth to get to the circus pavilion and Krustyland, a cheap theme park created by the clown. After seeing some “live footage” of the Simpson family on an outing at Krustyland, guests are taken to the ride.

Shortly after entering the ride vehicle, Sideshow Bob, recently escaped from prison, takes over the park and the car goes on a wild ride complete with crashes, thrilling drops, broken tracks, all sorts of special effects, and huge versions of the Simpson characters.

If your a fan of Ellen DeGeneres, you may have a chance to see her show live! On Sunday, April 3rd 2011 They will be taping two Ellen DeGeneres shows at CityWalk in Universal Studios Orlando.

The scheduled guest and times of the shows will be announced at a later date. There is no more audience tickets available, but you can still join in the fun at the “Riff Raff” street party.

There you can see the Ellen DeGeneres show being taped on the CityWalk plaza stage screen, and watch the musical guest perform live! From the sounds of it you will get taped and maybe be flashed as part of the show.
