With all the holiday specials going on here in Orlando, one of the main ones is Disney’s Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party 2010! For Disney fans this is a big event, one they wait all year for.

Each year during selected nights in November and December, which I list below, Disney holds a special Christmas party at the Magic Kingdom. It’s called Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and for 2010 it’s better than ever!

You have to buy separate tickets for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, normal park admission tickets does not include this event. It runs from 7:00 PM to midnight on the selected nights.

Walt Disney World resort, Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Of all the Walt Disney World resorts, the most famous is the Contemporary resort. This was one of the first Walt Disney World resort hotels made on Disney property, and the only one with Disney’s monorail train running right through it.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort is in walking distance of the Magic Kingdom and six miles from Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It is also connected to the other parks through a monorail which runs through the interior of the hotel.

On the other side, guests can enjoy the Electrical Water Pageant and Bay Lake. There is nothing better than staying on site for the complete Disney experience. You can clearly see the Magic Kingdom and the late night fireworks from this Walt Disney World resort.

Soon once again it will be time for Disney’s Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights at Hollywood Studios! Each year it gets bigger and better, with millions of blinking, flashing and music themed Christmas lights.

The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights is put up each year at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on the streets of America. Disney started displaying the lights in 1995.

It all started when Jennings Osborne from Little Rock, Arkansas put up 1,000 Christmas lights for his daughter. Each year he made the display bigger and bigger until people started complaining about the lights.

Disney Thanksgiving day events are often confused with other Holiday activities going on in that same month. Many think that there is a Walt Disney World Thanksgiving day parade, but that is not true, not at the Disney in Orlando.

There is a Disney Thanksgiving day parade at DisneyLand in California. Also many Disney floats are in the Macy’s Thanksgiving day parade. So just what is going on for Disney Thanksgiving day events?

Well there is a lot of other activities going on around the same time. All the parks will be open, and many of the big Disney park dining restaurants will be serving full Thanksgiving day meals, a list of which I made below.

Many don’t know it, but you can enjoy a free trick or treating experience at Disney’s downtown marketplace! Called Disney Happy Haunting, it’s held on October 30th and 31st.

Disney Happy Haunting is a nice way to enjoy a free trick or treat event for your kids at a Disney location. Select Disney downtown marketplace shops and Disney’s west side shops participate in this event.

Your kids can dress up in their trick or treat costumes and get goodies from the shops. Most stores will have maps you can get that shows what locations offer free candy.

Soon it will be time for Disney’s Festival of the Masters 2010 art show at Downtown Disney marketplace! This art show is one that I really enjoy seeing and go to it every year.

This year marks the 35th Festival of the Masters art show, sponsored by Sharpie (I assume the pen). It’s an open air juried art show that is spread out all over the Disney’s downtown marketplace area.

Each artist gets a white exhibit tent, and the art you can find there is top quality and fantastic. You can see paintings, photography, sculpture, jewelry and more. There is always some very unusual and one of a kind exhibits to see.

For those of you who visit Walt Disney World with pets, I have some big news for you! They now have a new Disney kennel, operated by an outside pet care provider named Best Friends Pet Care.

It opened up Sept. 1st, so it’s brand new and boy is it big! It also has the best and latest pet care facilities for all types of pets. Walt Disney kennels is now Best Friends Pet Care at Walt Disney World.

It’s located at 2510 Bonnet Creek Parkway Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830. Which is across from Disney’s Port Orleans resort, about as center of the Disney resort as you can get.

Once again it’s time for the Disney’s Epcot International Food and Wine Festival 2010! This year the Epcot wine food festival is going to be great, as it always is. This fall season event runs from October 1, 2010 — November 14, 2010 at Epcot theme park.

Each year they transform Epcot into a tasty buffet, where you can sample the best foods from around the world. There is a lot going on and many different things to see, do, drink and eat!

As you walk through the world showcase you will see more than 25 international marketplace kiosks that will be offering each lands specialty foods, along with wine and beer.
