I’m saddened to inform you that one of Sea World’s killer whales has died suddenly. Kalina, a 25 year old female killer whale, seemed fine on Sunday. But Monday she seemed sick and died soon after.

Kalina was born at Sea World from her mother Katina. She had several calves of her own since then. The cause of death will not be known until they do a necropsy, results which can take up to 6 weeks.

It has not been a good year for Sea World Orlando, with the death of one of their long time killer whale trainers Dawn Brancheau coming months ago. She was killed by Tilikum, a large male killer whale.

SeaWorld Spooktacular Halloween event 2010

SeaWorld Spooktacular Halloween activities

SeaWorld of Orlando has it’s own Halloween event each year, like the other theme parks in the area. Called SeaWorld Halloween Spooktacular, It’s a casual Halloween event that runs during the day at normal park hours.

SeaWorld Halloween Spooktacular 2010 has several special things going on during the days it runs. Kids can come dressed up in costumes or not, it’s up to you. It is held on Oct. 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, 24, 29, 30 and 31 beginning at noon each day.

Because it is held during normal park hours, SeaWorld Halloween Spooktacular 2010 events are included with your normal park ticket. So no need to buy a special ticket for it, unlike the other theme parks.

Well everyone, soon it will be the 4th of July! As you can imagine Orlando has some major firework displays going on. For tourist most want to know about what types and when to see 4th of July fireworks at the theme parks. Just so you know, anyone can buy fireworks here in Florida, unlike some other states.

So watch out for people letting some loose around you, which they do. Last year it was very dry here in Orlando Florida. Because of that a lot of firework shows were canceled due to the fire hazard. But this year has been wet so everyone will be out shooting off their fireworks! The theme parks have some really good shows scheduled this year too.

The theme parks are always packed on the 4th of July, and some may stop admitting people in once they are full. So get there early and don’t leave the park until your sure your not going to stay anymore that day. Here’s a break down of what the major theme parks have in store for you on the forth of July:
