It’s time to find out what’s going on for Universal Studios Christmas holiday events and shows for 2012! As always they have a lot going on at both of their parks. Here’s a summary of the shows and events.
At Universal’s Islands of Adventure
One of the most favorite Christmas tales in the world is The Grinch That Stole Christmas by beloved children’s author Dr. Seuss. The story has been translated into several languages and found its way into homes of children for many years. Children and adults alike love to listen to the story of the Grinch, year after year.
When you listen to that story, haven’t you always wanted to jump right inside that book, and join the Whos in Who-ville?
Well, now you can by visiting Universal’s Islands of Adventure during the Christmas season this year, where Seuss Landing will be transformed into Grinchmas.
Grinchmas is sure to delight Dr. Seuss fans of all ages who have been hearing the story of the Grinch from the time they were tiny tots.
What can you expect to see in Grinchmas?
As you stroll through the winter wonderland, you will be able to hobnob with Whos visiting from Who-ville, and you may even get to meet the Grinch himself. He will be there in all of his green glory.
The main attraction of Grinchmas is a wonderful show featuring the music of Mannheim Steamroller, the characters of the Whos, and the Grinch. After the show, if you plan your day correctly, you will be able to meet the Grinch, take a picture with him, and tell him what you want for Christmas.
You can also reserve a Character Breakfast time with the Grinch and his friends. You may see The Cat in the Hat, Thing One and Thing Two, and other famous Dr. Seuss characters. What a great way to spend your holidays, jumping right inside a storybook by Dr. Seuss!
At Universal Studios Florida park
Each Christmas Universal Studios has their own Macy’s holiday parade! It features real floats and balloons from the real Macy’s Thanksgiving day parade.
Plus at the end is a dazzling Christmas tree lighting event. This all takes place nightly from Dec. 1st to Jan. 1st.
Next is great music from Mannheim Steamroller! On weekend nights the band plays live on stage at 6:00 PM. Dates are December 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23. Make sure you catch one of their shows!
