This year, Mardi Gras Grand Celebration boasts 20 musical acts, towering stilt walkers, and brightly colored costumes.
Event’s Highlights
This fabulous event attracts visitors from all over the country. They get to see the Mardi Gras Parade, the live shows at the French Quarter Courtyard, the Mardi Gras After-Party at Universal Citywalk, and lots of concerts featuring some of the biggest names in rock, pop, and hip-hop.
Guests can taste authentic Cajun food, admire the colorful street performers, and enjoy the music. Unlike the New Orleans Mardi Gras, this annual event is suitable for the whole family. There’s even a special parade viewing area for kids. You can find it next to the Terminator 2: 3-D attraction.
The dazzling parade at Mardi Gras Grand Celebration is one of the event’s highlights. This year, its central theme is “Around the World in 80 Days.” As you have probably guessed, this one-of-a-kind event is inspired by Jules Verne’s novels. Guests can see dozens of floats featuring exotic dancers, fairies, cartoon characters, and mythological figures.
In 2014, Universal Studios Mardi Gras Grand Celebration is home to world famous performers such as the Foreigner, Robin Thicke, Nelly, Cher Lloyd, Cody Simpson, and the Barenaked Ladies. The concerts will take place on Music Plaza Stage. There are no extra-cost VIP areas available. If you want to see your favorite singers live, you have to arrive early.
Come Enjoy Great Food and Fun at the French Quarter
The French Quarter Courtyard will provide guests with authentic Cajun food and refreshing drinks prepared by Chef Steve Jayson and his team. Everywhere you look, you’ll see food and beverage booths serving sweet beignets, sausages, shrimps, spicy jambalaya, and fresh-made fried doughnuts.
This year, the French Quarter Courtyard offers more than food. Visitors can enjoy true American music and amazing concerts. Top performers include the Soul Project, The Big Easy Playboys, Mississippi Rail Company, and the Naughty Professor.
The French Quarter 2014 concert lineup caters to every taste, featuring live blues and zydeco bands. These events are family friendly, so make sure you come here with your loved ones! There’s something for everyone at Universal Studios Mardi Gras Grand Celebration!
