Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course in Orlando

Disney's magnolia golf course

As one of the two original Disney golf courses, the Magnolia was field of choice for the PGA Tour Qualifying School finals until the early 1980s. Disney’s 18-hole “Magnolia” course features 7,190 yards from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course design uses the natural features of the area to emphasize the beauty of the rolling greens and sparkling water hazards.

The Magnolia course is the longest of all the Disney courses. What makes this course so special is the state-of-the-art equipment available on site, which includes golf carts equipped with GPS, computer-generated images of course fairways and the ability to monitor time and pace of play.

It also features precise yardage to different fairway and green locations, professional tips that aid course strategy and 3D views of each hole. More than that, the Magnolia supports a greater abundance of wildlife than all the other Disney courses. Here you can see alligators, deer, wild turkeys, turtles and osprey in their natural habitat. The layout carves through more than 1,500 Magnolia trees.

Youtube video of The Incredible Hulk roller coaster at Universal Studios

I’ve been going hog wild with my new camcorder at the theme parks! I really love taking videos of all the rides and attractions at Disney, Universal Studios and the other parks.

This one is a youtube video of The Incredible Hulk roller coaster at Universal Studios Island of Adventure. I’ve been on it dozens of times, but I still get a rush when it shoots you up from the start at 60 miles an hour, then puts you in a curving corkscrew!

I took the video from several different angles and viewpoints. From an overall view of the whole ride to close-ups of different curves and tricks. I highly recommend it if you love roller coasters. Enjoy this video of The Incredible Hulk roller coaster at Universal Studios!

Popular Sea World trainer Dawn Brancheau dies from killer whale

It’s been all over the news now, so I’m sure you have heard about the tragic death of popular Sea World trainer Dawn Brancheau. She was dragged into the water by a killer whale named Tilikum, a large male Orca.

They don’t know, and likely never will know why the killer whale dragged her into the pool, toyed with her and finally drowned her. Tilikum has had other problems with trainers before.

I have seen many Shamu shows with Dawn Brancheau, so it’s a little more upsetting to me than most who have never seen a Shamu show. She was very experienced with years of training.

But when your working with giant killer whales it only takes a second off guard for something tragic to happen, and it did. I’m not going to get into all the details about it, there are plenty of other articles on it if you want all that.

Instead I thought I’d show the youtube video tribute to Dawn Brancheau from Sea World. You can see her love for animals and the joy she had working with them. Rest in peace Dawn Brancheau.

Spring Break 2010 in Daytona Beach starts March 7th

Spring break in Daytona beach 2010

Well it’s almost spring break time at Daytona Beach here in Florida! Close to Orlando at about 60 miles, many spring breakers visit both Daytona Beach and Orlando during their stay. Daytona beach is not as wild as it use to be, back when they had all those MTV specials.

They use to even have Jerry Springer shows on the beach during spring break here! But the city cleaned up the place a bit, cracking down on all the wild parties and drunken vandalism.

However it’s still a popular spot for spring breakers, and Daytona has some nice new places right on the beach for entertainment and fun. Yes you can still drive right out on the beach in places too!

Mardi Gras parade at Universal Studios 2010 youtube video

Well everyone, I took a cool video of the Mardi Gras parade at Universal Studios Orlando this past weekend. In fact it’s my very first video with my new camcorder. I think it came out well, although night videos with a standard camcorder is not that great.

But I got all the floats and dancers, plus all the music and people yelling! I can see I need to zoom in a bit more on big objects like the floats to see the details. But again, being at night did not help.

Also I got to Universal Studios during the day when it was warm and just had on my T shirt. By the time the Mardi Gras parade started at 8:00 PM it was cold! So I was shivering like crazy, I really tested out the ant-shake device in the camera, lol!

It seems to work good since you can’t see too much shake. The microphone works pretty good too. I will go back during the day and take videos of all the Mardi Gras characters they have walking around during the daytime. Anyway I hope you enjoy this Mardi Gras parade youtube video I made at Universal Studios!
