Disney Halloween party

I must say I’m really slacking off on keeping this site updated, sorry about that! Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party 2013 at Disney World has already started and I wanted to give everyone a heads up before it did.

But better late than never I guess, so here it is! This year Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party 2013 at Disney’s Magic Kingdom park is going on from September 10th to Nov. 1st.

New Disney Villains in the Celebrate the Magic show

Disney shows

For those who don’t know, Disney has had a new nighttime show at The Magic Kingdom theme park for about a year now. Called “Celebrate the Magic” it projects colorful Disney scenes onto the Castle at night, set to music.

It’s really a very cool show, using the whole castle as a giant screen. They normally show this just before the fireworks show, on the nights they have it.

Well now starting Sept. 1st to Nov. 1st the show will include more of the Disney villains. Such as Ursula from the little mermaid, Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty and more.

I assume they are doing this because of Halloween, which makes sense. On the nights they have the “Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party” at the Magic Kingdom, the show will play after normal guest have left.

So that will give a nice refreshment to the show if you’ve seen it before. As well as adding to the whole Halloween theme of villains. Make sure you check it out if you have not seen it yet! :)

Time to hit the Disney parks now!

Disney vacations

For those of you who know me, I don’t have kids. Because of that my Disney and theme park plans are often a bit different than those who do have little ones.

It also played a part in the type of annual Disney pass I got. Summer is just about over and the kids are going back to school. For those with kids that means only being able to do things as a family during the weekends for the most part.

But for those childless ones like myself it’s the start of the best time of year to go to all the theme parks during the week. That’s why I choose and have a Disney weekday select pass.

Snow White and the seven dwarfs roller coaster update

One of the very last rides being made at the new Fantasyland at Disney’s Magic Kingdom is also what I think will be one of the best. The seven dwarfs roller coaster is moving along, as you can see in the above video.

I always thought that Disney should have made a Snow White and the seven dwarfs roller coaster ride years ago. The diamond mine with the carts and track was a perfect theme for a cool indoor roller coaster.

From what I can see the roller coaster will be both inside and outside. It does not have very high hills but you can see some sharp curves. I think it will be very similar in size and speed of Big Thunder Mountain railroad.

Orlando Theme park water ride tips

Theme park water rides

Summer is here in Orlando, Florida, which means all the kids want to go on the theme park water rides! I’m always surprised to see parents acting shocked when they go on a water ride and get a lot more wet then they think they will.

I guess a lot of folks think that the theme parks would not dare to get them too wet. HA ha ha! Yes they will, and they do. Some water rides get you more wet than others of course. But basically if you go on a water ride, expect and dress as if someone is going to throw a 5 gallon bucket of water over you.

I’m not talking about water parks or kiddie water play areas. All the theme parks have at least one real ride that involves water, lots of it! The whole point is to get you wet, so expect to do so.

Disney’s Magic Kingdom Celebrate the Magic show video

Once again it’s time for me to show you all some things I took from the holidays over at Disney! This Youtube video is one I took of the new Disney “Celebrate the Magic” night time show at the Magic Kingdom.

I took this during the Christmas holidays. What they do is transform Cinderella’s castle into a giant screen they project many different Disney characters, movies and other fun things.

It’s really amazing to see this in person, a video does not do it much justice. Seeing the whole castle jump and dance, transform into different colors and shapes is really something.

It is also done with music, which you can hear in the video. Plus they add a few fireworks and stuff. Actually they have their main fireworks show right after this show. It’s something you want to be sure to see if you go.

They only do this on select nights, or peak season. So check to see if it is being played and plan a night to go when it is. You’ll be really glad you saw this amazing show!
