For all you Avatar fans out there, Disney is planning something monumental, just for you. It’s Avatar Land! Avatar Land will be located in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and construction will begin in 2013.

It’s scheduled to open to the public in 2016. Disney recently retained the rights to use the Avatar theme, and they include not just the rights to the original film, but also to the sequels that are planned for 2014 and 2015.

The first Avatar Land completed will be at Orlando’s Disney World, but eventually, all the Disney parks worldwide will include Avatar attractions.

Who doesn’t love the holiday classic, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”? If your kids are fans, head to Orlando this December to see the story performed live at Universal’s Islands of Adventure.

The performance includes a wonderfully whimsical version of Whoville, all your favorite Whoville residents, amazing costumes, and of course, the Grinch himself. The action is accompanied by the music of Mannheim Steamroller.

SeaWorld Christmas holiday events for 2011

Once again it’s time to see what will be going on at SeaWorld for the Christmas holidays events and shows for 2011. Each year it gets bigger and better and this year is no exception.

Starting in November, SeaWorld Orlando will kick off its annual Christmas celebration, with the total transformation of the popular park. The festivities will include Winter Wonderland on Ice, A Sesame Street Christmas, Clyde and Seamore’s Countdown to Christmas, Shamu Christmas Miracles, the Makahiki Christmas Luau, and The Polar Express Experience.

If you’re at SeaWorld on New Year’s Eve, you’ll be treated to some great live music and a spectacular fireworks display to help you bring in the new year.

Pet friendly Flagler beach resort, Si Como No Inn!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a cool pet friendly beach resort with some friends, so I thought I’d tell you a bit about it. More and more people are traveling with their pets these days and good pet friendly resorts can be hard to come by.

This resort is called Si Como No Inn and it’s located right on the beach at Flagler beach. That is north of Daytona beach and just south of Palm Coast. Like I said it sits right on the beach, you only have to cross Oceanshore Blvd. and go down the steps to the beach!

Not only is Si Como No Inn resort very pet friendly but so is the beach right across from it. As you can see in the video I made above that stretch of beach is beautiful with not that many people around. So it’s perfect for pets, just please clean up after them. 😉

Disney Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Golf Classic

If you’d like to see some world-class golf and support a great cause at the same time, plan on attending the Disney Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals golf Classic, held on October 20, 21, 22, and 23, 2011. The tournament will be played on the Magnolia Golf Course and the Palm Golf Course, both of which are Walt Disney World championship venues.

Part of the PGA Tour, this exciting event has a history of featuring some of the world’s top golfers, including Jack Nicklaus, Payne Stewart, Vijay Singh, and the legendary Tiger Woods. The competition will be fierce and the stakes will be high, with hundreds of thousands of dollars in prize money.

These are beautiful golf courses, and Disney has some special treatment in store for spectators of the event. On the back nine of the Magnolia Course, guests can enjoy the Wine and Dine Walk. Here, the Disney World resort chefs will be offering food and wine at five different stations, each with a commanding view of the action.

At Orlando SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular, the underwater gang gets in on the action. Visitors to the park during the event will walk through schools of pumpkin fish as they encounter and interact with more than thirty whimsical sea creatures, including sea witches, sea fairies, Saltwater Taffy, and Suzy the Swedish Fish.

Walt Disney World Golf Courses now Palmer Golf Courses

Well everyone, looks like the next time you play some golf on one of Disney’s golf courses, they really are not Disney’s anymore. Seems as thought with many other golf courses around the area it’s not as profitable anymore for Disney.

At least not as profitable as they want to be for the time they put into them. So they are turning over the day to day operations over to the Arnold Palmer Group management company.

Yes that is the same famous Palmer golf player. It will be Disney’s 5 golf courses; the Palm, Magnolia, Lake Buena Vista, Osprey Ridge and Oak Trail golf courses.
